So remember the last post, where I said I was sad to leave my grey and tiffany blue bedroom? Well, I decided to paint the stripes in the bathroom the blue color...
I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!
Though, I am going to need to get new towels to match eventually.

Even though I have textured walls, the stripes ended up PERFECT.
Want to know how?

First, I painted the entire bathroom white (it was already white, but it hadn't been painted in years and years probably, so it looked like crap).
Next, I measured and taped for the stripes.
Then, where the blue stripes were going to be, I painted over the seam of the tape at the top of the stripes and the bottom with white, to seal it so the blue wouldn't seep through.
I waited two hours for that to dry, and then painted the blue stripes.
I removed the tape while the blue was still wet.
I ended up with {almost} flawless stripes!

  1. This is great! Striped walls are my favorite right now, I'm even considering painting my daughter's room striped. It looks really clean but still whimsical and sweet. Nice job! :)
