No more cable.
There are so many other ways to watch tv and movies,
and for CHEAPER.
Like, way cheaper.

First, I bought this Roku.
It's $10 off right now on their website,
selling for $49.
This thing is awesome.
You can stream so many different channels on it.

Let's you stream tons of movies and tv shows.

The best part of Hulu is you can watch a lot of the newest episodes a day after they air on tv. Awesome!
$7.99 a month, and a free week trial!

Comparable to Netflix,
but with the option to buy episodes and movies that aren't available on NetFlix.
$79.99 for a year (which is about $16 less than a year of Netflix).

Free!

Plus tons of other apps, like Pandora and Facebook and

  1. We have been cable free since September and it has been wonderful. We use Netflix through our Playstation3 and we are always watching something new. It is so much nicer to pay $8/month to Netflix then it is $200/month to DishNetwork. I hope it works out for you too.

  2. We've been cable-free for 3 years now. I love not having to catch up on "all my shows". It was very liberating to ween myself off the trashy reality shows, and spend time doing other things. Now, I don't think I have time to sit down and watch...anything! Congrats on taking the plunge. :)

  3. I cancelled cable last month as it was costing us £80 per month. With the added cost of childcare now I've returned to work full-time, every little certainly helps.
