About a month ago, I got the whole "Early Intervention" process started...for P's speech. Before they schedule an appointment to see if he qualifies for speech therapy, they do a vision and hearing screening. So 3 weeks ago we went to that. One of his ears ended up failing the screening- they thought it had to do with his cold. But since one ear didn't pass, they couldn't pass him and referred us to an audiologist. But after reading about Christmas lights being full of lead,  I feel like a failure for putting Porter in this danger.  I read this article and now realize how unsafe these lights actually are. The PVC insulation that insulates the wiring is full of lead, and extremely high levels of it. You need: A few (or many) different fabrics Twine Cut strips of fabric. A lot of them. Mine were about 2 inches by 14-15 inches. Tie the ends of the twine to two things to keep it taut. Fold the strip of fabric in half. Put it against the back of the twine and leave a loop-ish kinda thing at the top. Bring the ends through the loop. Pull tight. Repeat again and again and again. These are really easy and cheap to make, and look pretty dang awesome on the tree :) You need: Some sort of oil cleaner...I used Old English Wood Cleaner Empty glass ornaments Glitter  1. Take the top off of the ornament.  2. Pour in a tablespoon or two of the cleaner.  3. Cover the hole in the top and shake until the cleaner has coated the inside of the ornament. 4. Turn upside down and let excess oil drain out. This is really important, otherwise the glitter won't coat the inside of the ornament correctly.  6. Fill ornament...
