WE'RE MOVING!

We are moving into a condo with my friend (and ex sister-in-law, long story) Katie and her daughter Lily :) Katie has become one of my closest friends over the past couple of years,
and Porter really loves his cousin Lily.

Katie and I looked at the condo on Saturday, applied for it yesterday, and got the call today that we got it. It's 1600 sq. feet, with 3 bedrooms and a lot of space. We really love it. It's on a dead end street and there are lots of kids who live around there, so it'll be good for our kids...and maybe we'll meet some other parents who we like :)

(here's a pic from the internet ad of the outside)

I am happy and excited...
but i'm also a little sad and kind of scared.

The reality of being a single mom is hitting me hard today,
now knowing that we truly have a move out date.

I tried so hard to make our relationship work- with Porter in mind-
and I feel that in a way we are letting him down.
It's not fair that he doesn't get to see both of his parents every day.
It's just not.

I've always embraced change, and been able to adapt well in the past...
but this is going to be so dramatically different and i'm nervous and worried and scared.

  1. You didn't let your son down, this will be his normal and make it as happy and as exciting for him as possible. Your son deserves two happy parents, and if you both couldn't be happier together than apart is best. I know its scary darlin, but you seem like a tough gal who obviously loves her son so you'll make it work no matter what.

    Keep your head up mama.

  3. I'm apparently behind and had to go back several posts to figure out what was going on. So sorry to hear about it all...you and your little man are in my thoughts and prayers.

Congrats on the condo, though! Good things are definitely heading your way.

  5. Thank you for the reassurance. It's hard knowing that he won't have both of us, but you're right...it will be the norm for him and he won't know the difference.
